Today (May 1, 2025), Dr. Sakarn Bunnag, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Medical Services, said that Multiple Myeloma is a hematological cancer caused by the abnormal division of a type of white blood cell called plasma cell in the bone marrow, causing the production of abnormal proteins in the bloodstream, resulting in symptoms such as anemia, bone pain, osteoporosis, bone fracture, kidney failure, high blood calcium levels, etc. This transplant not only increases the chance of survival for patients, but also increases the chance of accessing more effective treatments.
